An innovative
spin-off company
PrediSurge is a spin-off company from the Biomedical and Healthcare laboratory of top tier engineering school Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne.
PrediSurge was founded in May 2017 in Saint-Étienne (France) to spread the innovative technology of predictive and patient-specific numerical simulation in to the cardiovascular communities, both physicians and devices manufacturers.
Patient-specific Digital Twin
Our idea has come up from the meeting of engineers, researchers and clinicians, to solve difficulties encountered during the process of aortic endovascular interventions.
Consequently, more than 8 years of academic research between the engineering school of Mines and Saint-Étienne University Hospital have resulted in a prototype of predictive patient-specific simulation – the digital twin. Since PrediSurge inception, this technology was improved, extended and validated to different anatomies.
Predictive simulation for precision medicine
Based on these promising results, PrediSurge had been founded to spread this highly valuable work among cardiovascular communities and for the benefit of the patient on a wide scale. Our strong collaborative setup is now dedicated to develop digital solutions for the medicine of the future.

The Leadership Team
Jean-Noël Albertini
Co-founder, Chairman, CMO
Jean-Noël is vascular surgeon and one of the international key opinion leader on aortic endovascular repair. Academic research was conducted thanks to his impulse to benefit clinicians and patients in fine. Nowadays, he continues to lead Predisurge strategy and bring his clinical expertise.
David Perrin
CTO
David is engineer and defended his PhD thesis in 2015 on patient-specific simulation of aortic endovascular repair. He is the author and inventor of several publications and patents in this field. He acquired entrepreneurship and managerial skills to launch PrediSurge spin-off in 2017. Since 2020, he is CTO and manages product development teams to design decision-support software for cardiovascular interventions based on the numerical simulation technology.
Bruno Virieux
CEO
Bruno is the CEO since December 2022. He joined PrediSurge after more than 20 years of experience in the medical technology sector. Specialist in Machine Learning and graduated from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, he has worked on various cutting-edge projects in the health sector. His expertise and skills drive PrediSurge development and growth day by day.

Solenne Mondesert
R&D engineer & Scrum Master
Solenne is R&D engineer specialized in biomechanics during her PhD thesis. She joined PrediSurge in 2018 to apply her skills to serve patients, with predictive digital twin technology. She is at the heart of innovation development and has recently taken over the day-to-day management of the aortic project as Scrum Master.
Florian Cotte
R&D engineer & Scrum Master
Florian is R&D engineer and holds a PhD in image processing, having completed his thesis in 2019 on signal estimation within X-ray imagery, for which he secured a patent. Currently, he addresses image processing and artificial intelligence matters, while also overseeing the company’s cardiac division as Scrum Master.
Joris Vermunt
R&D Engineer
Joris is an engineer with a PhD in mechanics and materials science. In 2018, he was the first employe non founder in PrediSurge. He manages the Application team taking care of the production, our simulations developments and validations through clinical studies.
Three Squads
PrediSurge is organized around 3 squads (or multidisciplinary teams) focused on 3 different objectives: Solution team, Application team and Innovation team.
These three squads are organized in a similar way and work in an Agile environment. They are composed of IT developers, R&D and production engineers.
Three more cross-functional team completes these squads for quality, regulatory, project and product management, business development and clinical affairs.
